The International Youth Music Festival Tour is a project of the American Chinese International Culture Exchange Association. ACICEA is a non=profit formed to be a vehicle for cultural, technological, and educational exchange between the United States and other countries. As part of their mission they have created the International Youth Music Festival Tour to help develop partnerships with cultural, academic, and and corporate organizations. Jul 16 Los Angeles/Shanghai We will depart from the Los Angeles, on our overnight transpacific journey to China.
Jul 17 Shanghai Arrive in Shanghai. You will meet our local China Representative at the airport and transferred to the hotel. (L,D)
Jul 18 Shanghai Today we will visit Pudong Development Zone and The Bund. We expore the thriving business center of Shanghai and see the modernization of this great city. The picturesque Bund, extending for 1.5 km on the shore of the Huangpu River, is an emblem of Shanghai. A total of 52 high buildings of various heights tower over the river along the western side of the Bund, looking like a museum of modern world architecture. (B,L,D)
Jul 19 Shanghai/ Xi’an This morning after breakfast at hotel, we transfer to the airport for our departing flight to Xi’an (ancient capital of China for 13 dynasties in the history. Visit: Ancient City Wall (the best preserved as well as the biggest defending system in the world) (B,L,D)
Jul 20 Xi’an This morning after breakfast we will attend the Opening Ceremony of Xi’an International Youth Musical Festival and Welcome Banquet. We will meet Choirs, marching bands, orchestras, and dancing groups from all over of the world. You will have a wonderful opportunity to exchange with other student performers. Those who are selected to participate will be given a certificate by the organizing committee in China as well as American Chinese Friendship Association. In the afternoon, we will visit the downtown area where the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower stand; Muslim Street (Located in the center of Xian City, the Muslim Street, sometimes called Hui Street, is a famous attraction as well as a commercial center) (B,L,D)
Jul 21 Xi’an Performance at Xi’an International Youth Music Festival, A tour of the city if we have time. (B,L, D)
Jul 22 Xi’an Performance at Xi’an International Youth Music Festival, If we have time, We will visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horsed Museum (Eighth wonder of the world. 0ver 7000 figures of different sizes and facial expressions), Shaanxi History Museum (China’s first large-scale modern national museum. It marks that China’s museum career has entered into a new development mileage) (B,L, D)
Jul 23 Xi’an/Beijing After breakfast at hotel, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Beijing, the capital of China. Visit to Tian An Men Square (the largest public square in the world, big enough to hold half a million people and the symbol of New China).
Today we will take the journey to the Great Wall (symbolizing China’s ancient civilization, visit Juyongguan section), The Summer Palace (the second largest and best-preserved royal garden in China), Special Dinner this evening. (B,L,D)
Jun 25 Beijing/ Los Angeles After breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport for the departure flight home. This will conclude the American Chinese Friendship Association’s International Educational and Performing Arts Program in China. (B)
