Martin R– Placed with Taylor family.  16 years old.  He lives in Ourense with his parents and younger sister.  His father is a businessman, and his mother is a chiropractor.  He has a dog in his home.  He loves dancing and singing. He was a contestant on the Spanish version of The Voice! He likes sports, like cycling, swimming, and tennis.  He is so excited to spend time with his new American family!  He hopes this experience will be unforgettable.

 

 

Xavier C– Placed with Burrows family.  16 years old.  He lives near Barcelona with his parents and younger sister.  His father is an Architect, and his mother works in Administration.  He is allergic to legumes (lentils, peas, chickpeas, beans, soybeans and peanuts).  His nickname is Xavi. He loves sports, especially soccer.  His dream is to become a pilot, therefore he really wants to speak English fluently.  He is really excited to come to California to learn to surf, make new friends, and learn a different way of life.

 

Alvaro B– Placed with Barton family.  16 years old.  He lives in Madrid with his parents, younger sister and brother. Once he finishes high school, he hopes to study either Engineering, or Business.  He loves spending quality time with his family and friends.  He is an active person, and his favorite hobbies are playing sports, listening to music, and cycling.  He also enjoys tennis, paddle, and soccer.  Last year he spent the entire school year in Ireland, learning English in an Irish boarding school.  He is very outgoing and thought this was an amazing experience.   He is very grateful for this opportunity to be part of your family, and really looks forward to meeting you.

 

Pedro A– Placed with Ensore family.  16 years old.  He lives in Madrid with his parents, twin brother, and older sister.  His father is an Engineer, and his mother is a businesswoman.  He loves hanging out with friends, playing videogames, listening to music, and riding motorbikes.  He also loves to practice sports, such as tennis, soccer, and skiing.  After high school, he wants to study business at the University.  He loves travelling, and is looking forward to meeting you, and practicing his English.

He lives in Madrid with his parents and 2 older brothers.  His father is an Industrial Engineer, and his mother is a doctor.  He loves music, playing computer games, and playing sports.  Miguel M– Placed with Develasco family.  16 years old.  He lives in Madrid with his parents. He has an advanced level of English.  His favorite hobbies are playing tennis, soccer, wakeboarding, and sports in general, as well as hanging out with friends.  He also loves skiing and snowboarding in the winter.  He has traveled to Ireland, England, and the US (Virginia) to improve his English.  He thanks you for this opportunity to live with an American family, and looks forward to meeting you!

 

Adrian R– Placed with Northon-Casillas family. 15 years old (he’ll turn 16 on July 2).  He lives in Madrid with his parents, sister, and 2 brothers.  His father is a businessman, and his mother is an export rep.  He likes soccer, horseback riding, other sports, and the beach.  He looks forward to improving his English, and to learning to surf.

Javier Z–  Placed with Peterson family.  14 years old.  He lives in Burgos with his parents, who are both doctors.  He loves sport… tennis, surfing, skiing, cycling, and especially soccer.  His favorite tv show is Game of Thrones.  He likes all types of music.  He loves theme parks, having adrenaline rushes, and traveling.  He’s really looking forward to coming here and meeting his new American family, and hopes that you will enjoy having him in your home.

He lives in Badajoz with his parents, and older sister.  His father is an Engineer, and his mother is a homemaker.  He loves sports, cars, and traveling.  His favorite sport is basketball.  He also likes soccer, and padel (similar to tennis).  He has traveled through Europe, but has never been to another continent.  He is looking forward to visiting America.  He likes hanging out with friends, watching movies, or going swimming.  He likes the beach, and sailing.  He has seen a lot of photos of California, and he is sure to have a great experience here!

Ricardo G– Placed with Thomas family. 16 years old.  He lives in Ourense, with his parents who are both doctors.  He has no siblings, so he is looking forward to have a brother here in California!  He likes sports, especially soccer.  He plays soccer every week on a team.  He likes going to the beach, hiking, and camping.  He loves music… He used to play piano, but now he plays guitar.  Some of his favorite American bands are Green Day, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and Red Hot Chili Peppers.  He loves traveling.  He visited Philadelphia last year, and he is looking forward to visiting the west coast and learning how to surf at our amazing beaches.

 

Ricardo G– Placed with Johnson family. 13 years old.  He lives in Madrid with his parents and older brother (who will also be joining this program!), and sister.  His father is an Economist, and his mother is a Lawyer.  He has allergies to pollen, but shouldn’t be a problem in your home.  He loves sports, and plays soccer on his school team, as well as takes tennis lessons on the weekend.  He loves listening to music.  He loves animals, and going out into the countryside.  He loves spending time with his family, watching movies and talking.    He thanks you for giving him this opportunity to stay with you this summer.  He hopes to improve his English and to learn about the USA.

 

Jesus G– Placed with Thompson family. 15 years old.  He lives in Madrid with his parents, and younger brother (who will also be joining this program!), and sister.  His father is an Economist, and his mother is a Lawyer.  He loves sports, music, movies, and videogames.  The sports that he plays are rugby, soccer, and tennis.  He is a very open, and funny person, according to his friends.  His favorite thing, in the world, is music.  He listens to music a lot!  He also loves the ocean & the beach!  He thanks you for taking him into your home & family.

 

Marta C- Placed with Elwell family.  15 years old.  She lives near Barcelona, with her parents, and older sister.  Her father is a manager, and her mother is a lawyer.  She loves to travel.  She’s never been to America, so she is really looking forward to  coming here and discovering our culture and lifestyle. She loves playing sports.  From an early age she took dance lessons, and now she teaches dance to a group of 3 year olds.  She also loves gymnastics, volleyball, and watching movies at home or the cinema.

 

 

Elena S – Placed with Rossel family.  17 years old.  She lives in Ourense with her parents and 2 brothers.  She hopes to study medicine.  She is an independent extrovert, and very sociable.  She likes watching movies, listening to music, playing basketball, shopping, outdoor activities, going to the gym, and traveling.  She also likes animals.  She likes doing charity work, and is now helping out at the Red Cross.

 

Ines G– Placed with Brown family.  16 years old.  She lives in Lugo with her parents, and older sister.  Her father is an Economist, and her mother is a Teacher.  She is cheerful, optimistic, friendly, and helpful.  She enjoys chatting, and making new friends.  She is really excited about this trip, as she loves travelling.  She loves ballet, and goes to the professional conservatoire of dance in Lugo.  She also loves going to the cinema, reading, listening to music, and watching tv.  She likes pasta, meat, fish, fruits, and vegetables, but also likes trying new foods.  She wants to thank you for giving her the opportunity to spend 4 weeks with you.

 

Sara B– 15 years old. Placed with the Vorres family (July 1-15) & the Checa family (July 15-29). She lives in Ourense with her parents and brother.  Her father is an Orthopedic Surgeon, and her mother is a nurse.  She has a little dog in her home. She loves going to the movies, and she swims a lot in the summer.  She also loves the beach.  She loves sports, but she loves dancing the most.  She is looking forward to meeting you and thinks this will be an experience she will never forget!  She wants to practice her English, and spend time with her new family!

Marta G- Placed with Terral family.  16 years old, but will turn 17 while she is here (July 14).  She lives in Badajoz with her parents, and 18 year old sister.  Her father is a economist, and her mother is a doctor.  She loves playing volleyball, and swimming.  She also loves traveling.  She is a great student, and loves Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.  She thinks she wants to be a doctor, like her mother. She is excited to travel to America for the first time, and she is sure it’s going to be the best experience of her life.  She is looking forward to meeting you, and she thanks you for the opportunity to live with you!

 

Laura F– Placed with Buchanan family. 16 years old.  She lives in Toledo with her parents.  Her father is the head of a factory, and her mother is a psychologist. She loves pets, and has a little dog in her home, who is always with her.  She is looking forward to our beaches, and hospitality.  She is looking forward to coming here and to having fun with you!

 

 

Marta S– Placed with Garza family.  17 years old.  She lives in Madrid with her parents, who are both Engineers, and younger sister.  She has an advanced level of English.  She is described as a calm type of person.  She is very creative, and loves reading, writing, painting, and listening to music. She’s a big enthusiast of art museums, or any kind of art or history related exhibitions.  She also loves playing piano, and acting.  She’s in her school’s drama club, and has also taken musical acting classes.  She loves tv series and movies so much, and really wants to work in cinematography.  She loves water sports.  She loves traveling and discovering new places, meeting new people, and learning about their culture.  She is really excited to come to California.

 

Maria A- Placed with Pache family.  17 years old.  She lives in Badajoz with her parents, and older sister and brother.  Her father is a pharmacist, and her mother is a biologist.  She likes spending time with her siblings going to the city center or to the movies.  She’s always loved science, and hopes to be a doctor someday.  She likes paddle, tennis, volleyball, basketball, horseback riding, skiing, traveling, and visited England a few years ago.  She has always been interested in American culture, so she is really looking forward to coming here, meeting new people, and practicing her English. She thinks living with an American family will be one of the best experiences of her life!

 

Sandra M– Placed with Ferregur family.  17 years old.  She lives in Villadolid with her parents, and 2 younger sisters.  Her father is an Industrial Engineer, and her mother is a housewife. She is a responsible and friendly girl.  She likes listening to music, and reading. She plays a little Spanish guitar.  She loves horses, and riding.  She also enjoys the cinema, and hanging out with friends.  She loves travelling and can’t wait to come to California.

 

Claudia P– Placed with Einspar/Fristoe family.  17 years old.  She lives in Madrid with her parents, who are both teachers.  She is outgoing and open-minded.  She is athletic, and likes to spend time outdoors.  She  loves the ocean.  She swims and plays golf regularly.  She loves traveling and learning about cultures. Family is very important to her.  She likes meats, vegetables, and fruit, but does not really like seafood.  She loves animals, so if you have a pet, she will be happy!  She is looking forward to meeting you, and hopes  to have a great time with you.

 

Denise R– Placed with Grady family.  14 years old.  She lives with her parents, 3 brothers, and dog & cat.  Her father is a businessman, and her mother is an export rep.  She likes horseback riding, singing and dancing. She is very excited to come to California to practice her English, and make new friends.

She loves listening to music, reading, playing sports, and hanging out with her friends and family. In the future, she wants to be a Nutritionist. She loves animals, and wishes she had a dog. Elisa D– Placed with Burbey family.  15 years old, but will turn 16 during her stay here (July 21)!!  She lives in Badajoz with her parents.  She is excited to come to California  to meet new people and know more about the American life.  She is a happy, open and funny girl.  She’s friendly, and loves to be in the company of family and friends.

Her father is in sales, and her mother is a civil servant.  She has a 23 year old brother, and a 29 year old sister.  She is friendly, outgoing, and kind.  She plays guitar, and piano.  She enjoys music, fashion, and sports. Marina V– Placed with Landis family. 13 years old.  She lives in Madrid with her parents.  Her father is in Marketing.  She has an advanced level of English.  She loves all water sports.  She practices Capoeira (the traditional Brazilian mix of Martial Arts and dancing).  She loves reading, and music.  She plays guitar and drums.  She loves animals, especially dogs.  She is very excited and happy to come to California and spend this summer with you!

She lives in Murcia, in the south of Spain, with her parents, sister, and dog.  She loves sports, and being active.  She has also been working with a model agency for the past year.  She loves reading, and usually has a book in hand.  She also likes dancing.  She loves to eat healthy food, so a family that eats healthy would be best for her!  However, she does like most foods from salads to hamburgers.  She has been to England for 3 summers, and last year she went to Washington, but she has always wanted to come to California, so she is REALLY EXCITED!  She can’t wait to meet you and enjoy the summer with you!
